Financial support of community-based agencies is another purpose of
Developmental Services of Franklin County. Agencies in Franklin County serving
persons with developmental disabilities can request financial assistance for their
programs. Developmental Services of Franklin County supports the following
programs: sheltered workshops, supported employment, activity center,
therapeutic horsemanship, and transportation.
The sheltered workshops provide a variety of jobs to county residents. We have
two serving our community.

Many individuals can work in a competitive setting with just a little boost. With
supported employment, assistance is provided in finding a job and supports are in
place to help the individual learn the job and become an independent worker.

Rainbow Activity Center in Union provides services to adults with severe and
multiple disabilities. It provides orientation to the community and preperation for
working in a sheltered workshop.

provides a therapeutic horsemanship program.

Franklin County Transportation Council provides transportation from homes to
the workshops and activity center. It provides services to other destinations on a
limited basis.
